Sheltered from strong August winds down on a quiet bay, on Porth Cynfor beach, a steep scramble below the coastal path on the North of Anglesey. The sun was warm and the water glistened as it lapped to and fro. Floating just below the surface of the water seaweed swirled as the tide ebbs and flows on the shore.
This original seaweed gelli print captures the flowing beauty of marine plants featuring wild foraged Knotted Wrack and Channel Wrack to create layered expressive textures capturing the beauty of the natural forms. Created in rich earthy ochre tones with accents of olive and deep green, this print brings movement, depth, and a connection to nature into any space, with a touch of coastal nostalgia.
The print consists of two gelli print layers using hand mixed ochre, olive green and brown black hues. The item size is 12” x 10” including the white border for framing the work directly. Created in August 2024 as part of my Mystical Marine Gelli Print Collection.
